  1. I purchased a second hand Nikon D200 last year as some of you might know.
The plan was to make my camera gear lighter for bike rides and travailing.
I can look back to my days out with my Nikon FM2 and cant even remember
having a camera with me ! I can remember sticking a few lenses in my
pockets and going out all day ! I know full well I have been shooing all
day with the D3s. The D200 experiment worked so well, I decided when the
D400 came out I would buy one and just take a few primes out with me. But
then the Xpro-1 and the NEX-7 have been impressing people everywhere ! So I
might have to have a re think…

D400 or a change of plan to light weight pocket camera system ! We shall
    have to see…

Looks like I have a new blog post to sort out !

  2. Nice video but what he said at the end is bullshit, I bet he rather had a M9 or M9P with him, this is a commercial video of Fuji so dont expect to hear his honest opinion about what camera he would prefer. He didn’t even mention the frustrating autozoom that does not always work, nor how difficult it is ti manually zoom with the XPro1…

  3. Fabulous light, fantastic people, amazing camera. What more would you want? I sold all my heavy camera gear and purchased the black X100. I could have purchased the XP1 no sweat, but the X100 is equally as awesome and is a steal.

  4. I agree with Perry. You ought to be kidding me if you think Atlanta is more alive ( if that is a ritght term) than Atlanta. Mumbai can eat New York for peanuts

  5. Dear Zack, it is a great camera, but it is not the camera, it is you who did this great job. The best stove cannot make a good meal, it is the cook. So I have to admit you did a GREAT job. Wonderful photos. A big compliment from the Netherlands. Thanks for sharing.

  9. I know what you are doing! ! !, you are saying THAT on a Zack Arias Video, because you know they are gonna take a look at your pictures, kind of using Arias to make you famous or at least known… but i saw yours, lots of post processing just to mimic the classics, you wanted to be like Cartier-Bresson, Ansel Adams or and try really hard to be artsy… but don’t have a freaking clue… let us see how they look straight out of the camera… we all can see they Suck even more! humble or nothing!

  10. haha i am not trying to do anything.. but state facts if you cant see that you are a bigger fucking idiot. definitely not trying imitating anyone either but if my photos are coming across similar to Cartier-Bresson i am definitely doing something right then. dont presume anything. only reason why i came across this be because i was looking for samples of video quality or i would bother with this shitty camera i have a leica and 0.95 lens i am not post processing anything you moron.

  11. lets see your photos big mouth? i could definitely take better candid photos than this, without even trying. what bullshit you must be his fan boy does he do you up the ass as well?

  12. Hey! I was also looking for some samples of video and photo with the x-pro1 also. Leica’s not really in my budget (right now anyway) but do you have any samples I could check out? Also would you might telling me what you like about the Leica over what you’re seeing in the Fujifilm?
If you’ve got the time, just shoot me a message. Thanks!

  14. lomography? no… i am a fan of good photography. anyways definitely dont want this camera was just looking for reviews on video quality – i shoot ultra large format wet plate.

  16. i think you might be better off buying a nex7 as the video seems to be one of the best for the APC/MFT cameras. leica image quality is better then most my advice would be to buy and extensive lens and a cheaper camera. its really about the glass.. but it depends on what photography style you are trying to achieve & yes leicas are very expensive.. only reason why i have one was because i got it way before any of these cameras came out. but build quality leica isbyfar the best nothing comes close.

  18. Some nice stuff, but that „fashion“ shoot felt weird. Typical westerner-goes-to-exotic-place-and-imposes-western-perspective piece. Why does one need to shoot a model at a place where legions are heavily exploited?

  19. It’s wonderful to see Zach having a real experience making photographs. Screw the trolls. This is a man really in the midst of his passion for photography. You wish you were so lucky. The man has worked hard to get where he has and it obvious he’s enjoying the fruit of it. Kudos, sir. Keep it up.

  20. That background music sounds like Ravi Shankar, Anoushka Shanker and Alla Rakha at Monterey music festival back in 1967. That model is lovely. Is that Anjolina?

  21. Yeah umm. there is no:“auto zoom“ on either the X pro-1or the X100(nor the excellent Leica’s you mentioned). Perhaps you meant „auto focus“? The original x100 autofocus was troublesome but the new x100S model seems to have fixed the problems…

  23. Your „white liberal angst“is adequately palpable..and duely noted. I’m sure your marxist professors are proud. back to the student union with you.

  25. Been to Mumbai and if you don’t have a handler or someone to show you around and keep the poor and begging people off you it can be terrible. The colors in this country are wonderful but I will never forget the doorman whipping a person with a stick in front of the hotel I was staying at for not bothering the tourists. 1/2 block down the street people were shitting on the side walk. Very depressing country! Super rich or dirt poor with no middle class. In closing the begging made us go.

  26. that hilarious as i have been invited to numerous galleries to exhibit my work and have had many photos published by even leica,,, i am a fine art photographer, you cannot even compare this shit to my work. so go back to you little world of megapixels kiddie.

  27. I agree, it is hilarious (/unlikely) that you’ve been invited to show at numerous galleries, because your photos are Grade A ‚dog sh*t‘.
I could be wrong though so feel free to point me in the direction of these photos that Leica published or the places where your work was exhibited when you are ready.

  28. i recently had a solo exhibition which ran for over a month.. i have just been invited to exhibit at a gallery in the netherlands now starting in a few months.. go search for it you fucking ignorant twat. you obviously have no real knowledge of what true real photography is clearly! so i would shut your mouth. once again lets see your photography?

  29. None of that changes the fact that despite being shot with the most expensive equipment in 35mm photography your pictures are still incredibly sh*t. Now F**k off.

  30. if you listen carefully he said the fuji x series, not the x pro1 so that means he can consider x100s also, and any other x series. and I think that is legit considering the fact that how good x100s is

  31. Well, then I’m gonna have Holga sponsor a shoot at your trailer park, and instead of using a one of the local chicks, gonna use Selma Hayek or Michelle Obama as models who typify the American experience.

  32. yeah,,promote billion dollar company fuji in the slums and the poorest people in the world to use for your photo promote,,,great,,a true white man,,dont give a crap about the situation.why does everyone go to india to see the decadence and poverty knowing they will leave and come home to there nice big home when these people live in filth and a broken down city crumbling building,,,just amazing.

  33. „trailer park“? Now that’s funny… Selma is welcome on my sailboat; Sorry( „all that for a flag“) flotus is not.

Zack is making „pictures“ not a political statement.

  34. I was in India for a few weeks July-August 2012. When I was in Pune there was a bombing at the McDonalds that I had recently been to. When in Mumbai, riots occurred a week or so later. In Agra we were stalked and assaulted by some ninja monkeys and had to give them a bunch of food.

    But the wedding was great!

I have no idea how you were not descended upon by every beggar in a mile radius in these shots. Did you hire body guards while you were there?

  35. Zack you like me, I like take fotos in the streets, like you, please! look my flickr, my flickr nick name is the same the youtube: review2014, I more than 9.300 thousends fotos of streets, thanks for share, your channel is very interesting

  36. I am wondering if anyone noticed that the models left eye kind of drifts? For some reason when I see someone „non-attractive“ I always find something beautiful about that person. Sometimes a few things. On the other hand whenever I see someone „beautiful“ I see at least one flaw right away. Am I just weird? I just started this venture into photography and am wondering if this will hold me back.

  37. Thinking of her wondering eye as a ‚flaw‘ will not only hold you back in photography but in life my friend. That is exactly what makes that woman ‚real‘ and captivating. Finding the beautiful in the ’non-attactive‘ as you put it however is what will keep you ahead of the pack and blissful in life.

  38. …I became absolutely and totally drunk…because the city was great, the
models were great, the fujis was great, the shots were great…
Zack, I love you and I love the X-Series Cameras. Keep up, man!

  39. Hi Zack, I am travelling to a place where the temperature is expected to be
between -20º C and -30º C; sometimes dropping to -35ºC. How do I protect my
    X Pro1? Please advise. Thanks.

  40. I respect ZA. And I remember the Cheap Camera Challenge (where he did
magic) and after that, give him „any“ camera and he’ll do more than magic.
    So…. you get the point.
